HNGU offers Doctor of Philosophy courses in various specializations through the Gujarat University PhD Entrance Test PET.  The admission process for PhD courses will begin soon, with the release of the application form for the entrance test. HNGU PhD admission 2026 last date will be 31 July 2026*. The university conducts a university-level entrance test for admission to this course. After passing the entrance exam students have to attend the personal interview round. HNGU PhD course fees are INR 36,000 per year; students can pay this amount in online and offline modes. Students have to complete the registration form submission before the deadline to be admitted to the university @phd.ngu.ac.in. 

HNGU PhD is an entrance-based admission conducted by the university. The entrance test is based on the UGC guidelines. Students have to appear and qualify for the university-level entrance test to get admission; the entrance test contains multiple-choice questions. However, students who have qualified for national-level entrance exams such as UGC–NET/SET/ CSIR (NET) / GATE/ and M. Phil are exempted from the entrance test.

HNGU PhD Admission Eligibility Criteria

Candidates who are willing to take admission to a PhD programme at HNGU should fulfill the eligibility criteria. The applicant should have a master's degree in a relevant specialization, with at least 55% aggregate marks for General category candidates, and a minimum 50% marks is required for candidates belonging to the reserved category.

HNGU PhD Entrance Exam 2026

Hemchandracharya North Gujarat University conducts a PhD entrance exam. It is called PET. However, the university accepts the application forms of such students who have passed national-level entrance exams, such as CSIR NET or UGC NET, etc. There will be an entrance exam. The HNGU PhD Entrance Exam is computer-based, with two question papers for students to complete. One pertains to general awareness, while the other is topic-specific.
