IGNOU MED Admission 2025-26: Syllabus, Eligibility, Fees

IGNOU MED Admission 2025-26: Indira Gandhi National Open University MEd admission 2025-26 duration a minimum of 2 years to a maximum of 4 years time period to complete the course. It is an educational course that deals with teaching training. This course was started in June 2009 and It was NCTE-approved. This course was available for students who have one year of teaching experience along with an IGNOU BEd degree from any recognized board of education. The students interested in this course can take admission through the entrance exam at all Indian levels. 

The applicants need to pay INR 300 as an application fee for admission. Interested Candidates have to fill out the application form at the IGNOU admission portal @onlinerr.ignou.ac.in

NOTE: As per the UGC Guideline, the Master of Education programme is not offered in a Distance Education mode. Students have to apply for the MEd regular programme. 

Those students Who wish to apply for the IGNOU M.Ed admission 2025 must meet the basic eligibility criteria requirement before applying for admission to the M.Ed course from IGNOU 2025. The candidates must have basic eligibility criteria of having an Undergraduate degree with at least 55% marks from a UGC-approved university and the students should also have experience in teaching in a government-recognized school for the candidate to be eligible for applying for for the M.Ed course from IGNOU 2025.

IGNOU MEd Admission Form 2025-26

MEd course is not offered by the IGNOU.  In previous sessions, the university used to offer MEd admission, and the application forms were released on the official website. In many remote areas of India where the internet is not available, students can fill out offline forms. They can collect it from the nearest IGNOU centres. Students who want to do a master's in Education can fill out its online form before its last date.

Online Application for m.ed in IGNOU

Indira Gandhi National Open University will released the Online application on the university's official website @ignou.ac.in. The applicants who are interested in pursuing MEd courses at IGNOU can submit the application form online for a fee of INR 300 (Note: IGNOU doesn't provide MEd courses). 

IGNOU MEd Application Process

Candidates who wish to enrol in the IGNOU MEd course should have to complete the university application form process. Below, we have mentioned all the crucial details about the IGNOU MEd Application process.

• Students can register for admission to the course by filling out the form.
• After filling out the registration form, the applicants get the login ID and password. With the help of the login ID and password, the applicants will fill out the application form.
• In the application form, the applicants will have to upload multiple documents that are listed by the university as compulsory for admission.
• All the documents should be uploaded after being properly scanned. The size of the scanned image should not exceed the maximum size limit.
• Pay the application fee by selecting the link for fee payment. The payment can be done either online (net banking, credit card, debit card) or by offline mode (bank E-challan, demand draft).
• Download the confirmation details for the fee payment and the form submission for future use.

IGNOU MEd Entrance exam

IGNOU M.Ed Online admission will start soon for the next session. The IGNOU MEd entrance exam will not be conducted after registration because the university does not grant admission based on any test. IGNOU University won't take the entrance exam for the Master of Education program.

IGNOU M.ED Admission Fees

The applicants would have to pay an amount of INR 300/- in the process of submitting the application form for the general category students and other reserved categories such as SC, ST, etc., students need to pay INR 200/-. IGNOU provides the option to the student to pay the application fee semester-wise or yearly mode. If the applicant is interested in paying the course fee semester-wise, then they will be paying INR 8750/-, and for the yearly pattern, they will pay INR 18,000/-. The total IGNOU M.Ed fee will be Rs.36,000/- for the entire program of two years. The total fee is to be paid at the time of admission.

Eligibility Criteria for IGNOU MED Admission

MEd from IGNOU is not possible, as UGC has not approved the Master of Education course in Distance Education. Students must hold a BEd degree from an authorized university with a minimum 50% of aggregate marks. The M.Ed. program of IGNOU is recognized by the NCTE. NCTE recognized teacher education institutions in the country. NCTE regulations were announced in March 2010 and scored 50% marks.

IGNOU M.ED Admission: Reservation The Central Government/ State Government rules the reservation for SC/ST/OBC and other categories. There will be a relaxation of 5% marks in favor of SC/ST/OBC and other categories of candidates.

IGNOU MED Study Material

IGNOU MEd Study material printed for self-instruction on both theoretical and practical topics Every MEd Subject contains books holding the components of the programmes. A book usually comprises 3 to 5 units. Medium of Instruction The medium of instruction is English and Hindi. However, Candidates can write their answers in Hindi or English in term-end Examinations and Assignments.

Indira Gandhi National Open University assigns projects to students so that they can learn about their subjects in a different way. All students who are currently pursuing the IGNOU MEd course are required to submit their assignments on time if they don’t do so then they will not be able to appear for the exam. But for this session (2025-26), Indira Gandhi National Open University is not taking admission to the MEd program.
